Modern Warfare Remastered has quickly become the more desired CoD title for 2016 when compared to it’s bundled counterpart – Infinite Warfare. With that said, many players within the competitive scene have been much more interested in finding a way to make the MWR work within the competitive scene, more than Infinite Warfare. While it’s quick unlikely that Activision will decide to support Modern Warfare Remastered as part of the 2016-2017 Call of Duty World League; there is plenty opportunity for entities outside the official World League, to cater to the more competitive MWR crowd. Gfinity just so happens to be one of those entities.

Gfinity has announced that in partnership with OMEN by HP, the company will be hosting a Modern warfare Remastered OMEN Invitational tournament, where four of the most iconic Modern Warfare teams will battle it out for a share of $25,000. The tournament is set to take place, live, at the Gfinity Arena on December 3rd. In addition to featuring iconic teams, the invitational will also feature a “legendary talent line-up, who will guide you through this epic trip down memory lane.

The Head of Marketing at Gfinity released the following statement regarding the invitational; “As one of the most historic titles within the gaming industry, we’re excited to host our first ever Call of Duty: Modern Warfare event, which I’m sure our loyal community will enjoy. It is also a fantastic opportunity to continue our partnership with one of the world’s leading technology companies, HP, as we host the Omen Invitational.”

While nothing more was really revealed about the invitational, the company did announce that more details will be coming soon, and that tickets to the OMEN invitational are now on sale, and can be purchased by visiting here.
