If you haven’t yet got your hands on Rivals of Aether, you should definitely check it out, especially if you are a fan of any of the Super Smash Bros. games. Rivals of Aether is an arena-style, 2D fighting game, much like what we’ve seen from the Smash Bros. franchise. The game features seven characters, all of which cater to a different style of play, and have their own unique moves, backstory, and abilities.
Originally launched in 2015, the game quickly received quite a bit of praise, and while I feel it’s popularity would have grown even more quicker, if weren’t for the launch of Super Smash Bros. Wii U, around the same time, the game is definitely still gaining more popularity till this day!
Rivals of Aether has had their fair share of small, invitational based, tournaments and events, however; not much else has been done on a large scale to cater to the entire community, until now at least. While working alongside the NorCal Smash community, and Smash.GG, a new opportunity for Rivals of Aether players to compete, has been born.
The RSC: Proleague is set to be a weekly online tournament series, held for the indie title, and is set to take place this weekend on September 24th. The tournament series will be eligible for all players native to North America, with plans to launch an international tournament series for Europe sometime in the near future. If you’d like to take place in these weekly events, all you’ll need is an working steam account, and a full copy of Rivals of Aether.
Full details regarding the tournament series will be arriving next week, shortly after the first event. The full announcement is set to contain information regarding the ladder points, premier matches, and pries. You can signup for this weekends event, as well as learn more by visiting the official tournament page, located here.
