After much anticipation from Fighting Games fans from around the globe, the Evolution Tournament Series organizer, Joey “Mr.Wizard” Cuellar took to Twitch.TV last night, live along with Mike Ross from the Red Bull eSports Studio in Santa Monica, California to announce 2016’s official EVO lineup.

Many months of speculation has taken place in regards to which titles would make their way onto the lineup this year. With a SLEW of Fighting Games releasing from February up until the month of EVO, many different fans and players of various Fighting Games franchises have been hoping and praying for their game to make it’s way onto the roster. But with the announcement now made, the following titles will be featured at EVO 2016:

Many Street Fighter fans are saddened by the absence of Ultra Street Fighter IV, as many players believed the game would make it’s way back due to popularity and also due to the mixed reactions of Street Fighter V thus far. However, @MarkMan23 on Twitter, Community Manager of MadCatz, announced that a USF4 side event would be possible, as long as the event was desired enough and received the proper support (TO’s, Mainstage, etc).

EVO 2016 will be taking place from July 15th – 17th at the Las Vegas Convention Center this year. The Sunday finals will feature Street Fighter V,  Super Smash Bros. Melee, Mortal Kombat X, Guilty Gear Xrd-Revelator, and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. The finals will be taking place at the Mandalay Bay sports arena, a giant step up as far as the venue experience goes!
