Hey gamers! Glake here!
We’ve finally made it past the first half of 2017! Crazy how time flies, right? Hopefully during these past several months you’ve all been able to grind it out with some of the amazing games that have dropped this year, especially the more competitive ones!
2017 is quickly shaping up to be another HUGE year for eSports growth, especially for communities that are more on the smaller-scale than compared to the giants like LoL, DOTA 2, CS:GO, etc. With that said, I feel that both I, as well as W3G as an entity has reached a comfortable enough state as well as clear enough direction to fully begin tournament operations once again, and to finally begin to aim towards actively pursuing the main vision of this project.
I’ve spent a great deal of 2016 pondering off and on regarding where exactly I’d like to take this project since the re-boot, as well as how I plan to fit its operations into my “expected” busy 2017 schedule; and while many decisions have finally yet to be made and finalized, there are a few things which are now set in stone, one of which being our Summer 2017 Tournament Circuit, which I’d like to talk briefly on today.
Starting this July, we will official be kicking off our Summer 2017 Tournament Circuit (Tentative Title), and will be hosting a wide variety of tournaments, both offline and online, for several different titles. As we continue our mission to help develop smaller competitive communities for various titles; we feel that the featured titles we have selected to be a part of the Circuit will ultimately offer something for everyone.
So without further ado, here are our chosen featured titles that will be a part of our Summer 2017 Tournament Circuit.
- Puyo Puyo Tetris (Nintendo Switch)
- The King of Fighters XIV
- Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
- Super Smash Bros. Wii U
- Tekken 7
- Shadowverse
- Pokemon Sun/Moon
With such a diverse line-up of titles ultimately containing their own dedicated communities; for some online tournaments we will continue our trend of bringing our events to community websites centered around that specific game and or franchise, in order to directly help grow the competitive presence on that given community website, or at the very least, get the ball rolling for potential future events to be held!
Ultimately, we are extremely excited to begin running tournaments once again as a whole, as well as experiencing the uniqueness and energy that each competitive community for the given featured titles has to offer. Before we know it, July will be here; so official tournament dates and schedules are currently being finalized and planned out. We will have much more information to share with you all regarding our Summer 2017 Tournament Circuit in the weeks to come, so be sure to stay in tune to the website, as well as our social media for announcements!
