We’ve been a bit quiet ever since we revealed our recent re-boot plans for 2016; which include building up a new staff, re-establishing our social media presence, and coming up with new strategies for building audiences surrounding competitive gaming, as well as hosting tournaments.
While I am still hard at work on all of the above, I am happy to say that World 3 Gaming is now in a position to begin holding online tournaments, once again. Today I will be going into a bit of detail regarding the tournament schedule format, for the Fall 2016 Season, as well as revealing some of the titles you can expect us to be holding tournaments for.
After hosting several HearthStone tournaments throughout 2014-2015, one thing we quickly come to realize is that when holding events – for already well established Esport titles, it becomes quite difficult to maintain a consistent turnout, while at the same time, coming across the difficulty of being unable to win the eyes of many, once a given tournament is announced. With HearthStone, we realized the title was quite oversaturated with online tournaments, during around the time we began to make our way into the later iterations of “The Overload Series” weekly tournaments. With this in mind, we also realized that were weren’t really providing much benefit to the community at that point, as it was already growing quite steadily, and was no longer in need of competitive support.
One of our main goals at World 3 Gaming is to help further develop competitive gaming communities, for titles that are aiming to make their way into the Esports spotlight. As long as we feel the title is stable, and properly designed for competitive play, we will seek to support it in any way we possibly can. This includes publishing recent development regarding it’s Esports development and or even hosting tournaments for the titles. When we focused solely on HearthStone tournament during 2014-2015, we lost a bit of focus on that main goal; and now with the continuation of our seasonal tournament series, we hope to return back to our roots and begin helping support titles, that aren’t quite fully in that Esport spotlight, just yet.
This does not mean that however, we will no longer promote and or hold tournaments for competitive titles – that are already well established within the realm of Esports. More so, our tournament operations for these titles will be largely less consistent, as the overall demand for them will not be present. Going forward, you can expect to see a large variety of different genres of titles – within the events that we hold; as many new and under looked titles with Esports potential, of are all sorts of different video game genre’s.
With that said, today I’m excited to share with you all a handful of some of the titles you can expect us to hold regular events for, throughout the rest of 2016. As a note, our tournament series will NOT be limited to these titles, as is it quite likely we will hold others throughout the rest of 2016. However, as of now, these are the current confirmed titles you can expect to see us host online tournaments for – before 2016’s end.
- The Elder Scrolls: Legends
- Eternal Card Game
- Rivals of Aether
- BlazBlue: Central Fiction
- The King of Fighters XIV
- Super Smash Bros. Wii U

As usual, all tournament announcements will be published on the official World 3 Gaming website, as well as all social media – following the publishing. Throughout the remaining duration of 2016, we are happy to announce that we will be returning to Battlefy.com to host all of our events. For tournament that require much stricter operations, we will open up an official Discord channel, for that given event, to ensure players/teams are able to match-make smoothly; ultimately enabling a much smoother and enjoyable tournament experience.
While no official tournament dates are currently set in stone, we will be ready to announce our first few tournaments for our Fall 2016 Season, within the coming week or so; so be sure to keep an eye out on our official website as well as our social media for announcements as they come!
As a notice – our W3G Tournament Organizer application has now been updated featuring T.O positions for each of the titles listed above. If you are interested in helping organize and or run events for any of the following titles, please be sure to apply.
