If you are a fan of fighting games, odds are you already know about the worlds largest annual fighting game championship tournament, which takes place in Las Vegas Nevada. That’s right, I’m talking about the Evolution Series.

EVO has seen tremendous growth over the years, and has recently grown so much, that the series has had to make a venue change from Caesars Palace, to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. While only the final day of EVO 2016 was held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, this year the entire event will be taking place at the center, as turnouts are expected to be larger than ever.

Since the start of 2017, competitive fighting game players have been wondering which titles would be featured as part of the EVO 2017 official lineup, as 2017 will see the release of quite a few fighting game titles, more-so than in the past few years.

Today, the lineup for EVO 2017 has been officially announced, and I must say, I am quite pleased with this years lineup. The titles featured are as follows:

  • Street Fighter V
  • Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator 2
  • Super Smash Bros. Wii U
  • Super Smash Bros. Melee
  • Injustice 2
  • BlazeBlue: Central Fiction
  • The King of Fighters XIV
  • Tekken 7
  • TBD By the Fans

So as you can see, eight titles have been confirmed as part of the official lineup, with a 9th to soon be decided by the fans via voting. Odds are, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom: 3 will be the chosen title, as the community is still quite alive and well; not too mention the title will be receiving a soft re-launch next month on current-gen platforms as well as PC, which is bound to bring in new players.

Fans on social media have also brought up the possibility of Nintendo’s recently announced title “ARMS” being featured as the 9th game, as many recent players of the title have stated that there is definitely some depth to the title.

What are you hoping to see as the 9th title chosen for EVO 2017? Let us know in the comments, or on social media @World3Gaming

EVO 2017 will take place from July 14th-16th in Las Vegas Nevada.
